Obituary for Myla Mitchell

Myla Mullins Mitchell, 47, passed away February 17, 2019 at Hendrick Medical Center. She was born on April 7, 1971, in Amarillo, Tx to Jim and Betty Mullins.
Myla was a 1989 graduate of Cooper High School. She worked as a home healthcare worker for many years. She loved music, Jesus, her friends, and hanging out with her family. She loved her girls, and really adored her mom. While her life was medically challenging, she faced it with a smile on her face. She was funny, friendly; never meeting a stranger, strong-willed, and was definitely a fighter. She will be greatly missed.
She is proceeded in death by her dad, Jim Mullins, her maternal grandmother, Arie Bess Cummings, paternal grandmother, Minnie Mullins Woodruff, and her son William Peter Moor III.
Left behind to miss her are her mother, Betty Mullins, her daughters, Sydney Moor (Jaimie), Lindsey Moor (Jesus), all of Abilene. Sisters, Tawney Poulsen (David) of Oklahoma City, OK, Becca Mullins of Abilene, brother, Merret Mullins (Averi) of Round Rock, Tx. Nieces, Brooklyn Griffin (Tommy) of Abilene, Brianna Mullins of Denton, and Carla Taylor of Oklahoma City, OK. One great niece, Avarie Grace Brashear of Abilene. Nephew, Jordan Griffin, of Abilene, Tx, and one great nephew, Caiden Randall of Oklahoma City, OK. Also, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Myla’s life will be on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at Abilene Funeral Home "Chapel of Hope", 3349 N. 12st Street. With the Reverend Paul Matta officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Armour, Dr. Gao, and the staff at the Hendrick Heart Failure Program for their dedication and hard work that went into providing care and comfort for Myla.
