Kennon B. Carrion- Davis
Kennon B. Carrion-Davis, also known as Kenny, 46, went to meet his savior in Heaven 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Abilene Regional Medical Center. A celebration of his life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Galilee Baptist Church, 1011 Briarwood. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. A visitation will be Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 N. 12th Street.
Kenny was born April 1, 1967, to Sherman Davis and the late, Linda Sanchez. Kenny owned and ran Club Unity for several years in Abilene. He was well known amongst the gay community for helping those in need of emotional help and was a friend to so many. He will be dearly missed as he was often known to light up the room when he walked in. He was a kind spirited man with tons of love that seemed to flow naturally out of him.
Left to cherish his memory is his husband of 22 years, Steve E. Cash of Abilene; a nephew he raised, Matthew Carrion of Abilene; his father, Sherman Davis (Patsy); two brothers, Raymond Sanchez, Jr. of Florence, Arizona, Brenton Carrion of Abilene; two step-brothers, Ronnie Lang and Loyd Legg; three sisters, Rosa McDonald of Orange, Tx, Shirley Ann Williams (Blue) of Las Vegas, NV. Sonya Carter, and step sister, Patricia Legg; a niece, Krista L. Conner, His aunt Clara, Nora, and Uncle Gill with whom he was very close; several nieces, nephews, other aunts and uncles.
Kenny was preceded in death by his mother, Linda C. Sanchez; a baby brother, Melvin C. Davis and a step-sister, Juditha Wayne.
